Cleaning Red Wine Stains
Spilling red wine on your carpet is apt to produce two possible results: one, you will have to spend on a replacement for the item; second, you will need to call a home cleaning company. But if you want to deal with this problem on your own, you can get ideas from the following possible solutions.
Using Cloth or Paper Towels and Miracle Agents
The moment the coloured liquid spills on the rug, you have to blot the stains with a clean rag or paper towel. You have to do the process gently and refrain from scrubbing hard. This way, you do not damage the fabric’s fibres or spread the discolouration. You have to perform this step repeatedly until you do not lift up wine while applying pressure on the carpet.
As you are blotting the spilled liqueur with a cloth or paper rag, you can use miracle agents such as the following:
White wine – this is poured over the area where the red liqueur is staining. The white fluid waters down the dark colour of the former, helping you prevent nastier stains.
Club soda – you should use the carbonated and unflavoured ones since they contain salt. Carbon and salts are effective in preventing and removing discolourations on your rug because they lift the red wine from the fabric.
Hydrogen peroxide and carpet shampoo mixture – you have to mix 1 teaspoon of the latter with a cup of the former. Then, utilise a sponge to wipe the area gently. Lastly, repeat the process using the sponge and warm water.
Red wine causes nasty stains on your rug if not cleaned well. However, this should not stop you from enjoying its elegant taste. If you would like to learn more comprehensive information about wines, check out the rest of our pages.
